By accessing and using Comprendo ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our Service.

2. Description of Service

Comprendo is a language learning application that helps users learn languages through real-life conversations, video content, and personalized practice. The Service includes both free and paid subscription features.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Promptly update any changes to your information
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

4. Subscription and Payment

Comprendo Pro Auto-Renewable Subscription

Comprendo offers an auto-renewable subscription service called "Comprendo Pro" with the following terms:

  • Subscription Title: Comprendo Pro
  • Length of Subscription: 1 month (monthly billing cycle)
  • Price: $9.99 USD per month (price may vary by region and platform)
  • Content/Services Provided: Unlimited vocabulary saves, video flashcard reviews, auto-pause and loop playback, AI conversation practice
  • Free Trial: 7-day free trial available for eligible new subscribers
  • Auto-Renewal: Subscription automatically renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • Payment: Charged to your account at confirmation of purchase and at the start of each renewal period
  • Cancellation: Cancel anytime through your account settings or platform-specific subscription management

Payment Processing

Payments are processed through:

  • Apple App Store (iOS app)
  • Google Play Store (Android app)
  • Stripe (web platform)

Refunds and Cancellation Policy

Refund policies are governed by the respective platform's terms:

  • iOS: Managed through Apple App Store - contact Apple Support for refund requests
  • Android: Managed through Google Play Store - contact Google Play Support
  • Web: Contact isaac@comprendo.app for refund requests within 30 days of purchase

Subscriptions may be managed and auto-renewal turned off by going to your Account Settings after purchase. No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during the active subscription period.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Share your account with others
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Copy, modify, or distribute Service content without permission
  • Use automated systems to access the Service

6. Content and Intellectual Property

Service Content

All content provided through Comprendo (except user-generated content and third-party content) is owned by Comprendo or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

User Content

You retain ownership of any content you create using the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a license to use, store, and display your content solely for providing the Service to you.

Third-Party Content

The Service may include content from third parties (such as YouTube videos). Such content is subject to the third party's terms and conditions.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review our Privacy Policy, which also governs the Service and informs users of our data collection practices.

8. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COMPRENDO SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Comprendo and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
